Criss Cross Poker

About

Criss Cross Poker is a poker game played using a standard 52-card deck. Very similar to Mississippi Stud, Criss Cross involves the Player creating two five-card poker hands from his two cards and five Community cards.

Hands ranked as a pair of 6s through 10s are pushes (ties). Hands ranked as a pair of Jacks or better will be paid based on the odds in the Payout Table. All other hands lose.

How To Play

Placing Wagers

There are six places on the table that accept wagers. Tapping on the Ante spots or the Bonus spot will increase the wagered amount by the default amounts ($5, $10, $25, $50, $100) that are defined in Preferences. A maximum of $500 is allowed for the Ante. The Bonus wager cannot exceed $100. Before the cards are dealt, these spots can be cleared by pressing them and holding for a brief moment.

During a hand, tapping on the three "Bet" spots will increase them by the amount of the original Ante. These spots cannot exceed 3x the original Ante and the wagers must be placed in order: "Across Bet" followed by "Down Bet" and finally "Middle Bet". These wagers can also be cleared by pressing them and holding for a brief moment.

Starting the Game

To begin, each Player must place two Ante wagers of equal value; one for the Across hand, and one for the Down hand. The Player may also place an optional Five Card Bonus bet. After the wagers have been placed, Play starts by pressing the Deal button. At this time, the Dealer deals 5 Community cards face down in such a way that they form a cross. The Player is then dealt 2 cards face down.

Round 1: Across Wager

After the Player has reviewed his cards, he must decide to either place an "Across" wager or to Fold the hand. If the Player folds the hand, all wagers except the optional bonus are forfeit. If the Player decides to continue playing, he must place an Across wager that is 1x, 2x, or 3x the amount of his original Ante. Once this wager has been placed, the Dealer will reveal the two outside cards on the horizontal line of the cross. These two cards, plus the two cards that were dealt to the Player, form the basis of the Player's "Across Hand". When it is revealed, the center card will complete the Across hand.

Round 2: Down Wager

Next, the Player must decide whether to place a "Down" wager or to Fold the hand. As before, if the Player folds the hand all previous wagers except for the optional bonus are forfeit. If the Player decides to continue playing, he must place a Down wager that is 1x, 2x, or 3x the amount of his original Ante. Once this wager has been placed, the Dealer will reveal the two outside cards on the vertical line of the cross. These two cards, plus the two cards that were dealt to the Player, form the basis of the Player's "Down Hand". When it is revealed, the center card will complete the Down hand.

Round 3: Middle Wager

The final wager is for the "Middle" bet. As in the other rounds, the Player has the option to Fold the hand and forfeit all wagers that have been placed (except for the optional bonus wager). If the Player wants to continue the hand, he must wager 1x, 2x, or 3x his original Ante for the Middle bet. Once this wager has been made, the Dealer will reveal the center Community card.

Ending the Hand

At this point, the Player has two, 5-card poker hands. His two cards and the three horizontal cards form the Across Hand. His two cards and the three vertical cards form the Down Hand. Each hand is scored and played as a separate hand and qualifying hands are paid based on the schedule in the Payout Table.

For a winning hand, the Ante is paid even money and the separate Across or Down wager is paid at the winning odds. The Middle wager is always paid once at the highest winning odds. If there is not a winning hand, but there is a Push, the Middle wager is considered a Push. The Middle wager only loses if both the Across and Down hands lose.

STRATEGY NOTE: As soon as the Player has a pair of 6s or better, the Middle wager should be placed at 3x the original Ante. If the Player's two hole cards are a pair of 6s or better, all three wagers should be placed at 3x the original Ante; the Player cannot lose.

Payout amounts are shown in the Payout Table that is available in these instructions and by pressing on the game logo on the board.

Winning the 5 Card Bonus

The 5 Card Bonus wager is optional and is paid based on the hand created by the five Community cards. The qualifying hands and odds are contained in the Payout Table. If this wager was placed, the Player will be paid regardless of whether the full hand is completed.

Quick Replay

The hand ends after all cards have been revealed.

After a hand completes, if the Player presses the Deal button, a new hand will be dealt and the same Ante and bonus wager amounts from the preceding hand will be made.

If the Player does not want to repeat the last set of wagers, play will resume after the Player has adjusted the wagers and pressed the Deal button.

Note: This game was designed to support "Player Slow Roll". Look for this setting under "Preferences" When it is on, the Player cards will be dealt face down and the Player must tap on cards to reveal them. The game will not continue to the next stage until all cards have been revealed.
