The object of Pai Gow Poker is for the Player to use seven cards to create two poker hands, a 5-card hand and a 2-card hand. The 5-card hand's rank must exceed that of the 2-card hand. These hands will be played against two corresponding hands that the Dealer will build from his seven cards.
If both Player hands beat the Dealer hands, the Player wins the round.
If the Dealer's hands beat those of the Player, the Player loses.
If the Player and the Dealer each win one of the hands, the round is a Push (tie).
In Face-Up Pai Gow, the Dealer shows her cards and makes her hands BEFORE the Player decides his cards.
Unlike traditional Pai Gow, if the Player wins, there is no 5% House Commission. However, if the Dealer's best hand is an Ace High, both hands automatically Push.
Pai Gow is played with a normal 52-card deck plus a single Joker. The Joker is semi-wild meaning that it may be used as an Ace or used to complete a straight, a flush, or a straight flush.
In Face-Up Pai Gow, there are three types of wagers that can be made. The Ante wager is required and will be paid even money if the Player wins the round. The optional Fortune Bonus wager is paid if the Player can make any of the qualifying hands that are described in the Payout Table. This bonus wager is paid based on the Player's best possible hand from all seven of the cards regardless of whether or not the round is won or lost. The Fortune Bonus wager may be between $5 and $100.
The second optional bonus wager is the "Ace High Pai Gow Bonus". This bonus wager is paid when the best High hand that the Dealer can make is Ace High. This wager may be between $5 and $100
Once an Ante wager between $5 and $1000 has been placed, the Deal button will become enabled. When this button is pressed, both the Dealer and the Player will be dealt 7 cards. At this point, the Player has two options. He may make his own two hands or he may opt to play his cards by the same rules that govern the Dealer. Those rules are outlined below.
To play his cards, the Player needs to define his Low Hand. This is accomplished by moving two of the seven cards to the Low Hand spaces on the board. Cards are moved by tapping on them and then tapping on either of the two placeholders for the Low Hand. To remove a card from the Low Hand, simply press that card and hold for a moment. When the Low Hand has been finalized, the Play button will become enabled. Pressing the Play button will finalize the Player's hand and a winner will be determined.
The Dealer plays his cards based on specific guidelines. Those guidelines are:
Once the Player's hands have been decided, a winner is determined by comparing the Player's Low Hand to the Dealer's Low Hand and comparing the Player's High Hand to the Dealer's High Hand.
If both of the Player's hands beat both of the Dealer's hands, the Player wins the round.
If both of the Dealer's hands beat both of the Player's hands, the Player loses the rounds.
In cases where both the Player and the Dealer each win a hand, the round ends in a Push (tie).
Regardless of whether the Player wins the hand, Bonus wagers that were made will be paid if any qualifying hands are made. Qualifying hands can be found in the Payout Table that is available in these instructions and by tapping the logo on the gameboard.
After a hand completes, if the Player presses the Deal button, a new hand will be dealt and the same Ante and Bonus wagers from the preceding hand will be made.
If the Player does not want to repeat the last set of wagers, play will resume after the Player has adjusted the wagers and pressed the Deal button.
