In Tequila Poker, the Player will use 5 out of 6 cards to make a final hand. However, there are two different types of hands from which the Player can choose. The Player may opt to make a standard poker hand or to add up the values of the cards he is dealt to win based on the number of "points" in his hand. To make things interesting the Player does not make his decision until 4 of the 6 cards have been revealed!
Play starts when the Player has placed an Ante and pressed the Deal button. Tapping on the Ante button will increase the wagered amount by the default amount ($5, $10, $25, $50, $100) that is defined in Preferences. A maximum of $500 is allowed for the Ante.
When the Deal button is pressed, four of the Player's cards will be dealt. At this point, the Player must decide to play a Tequila hand or a High Tequila hand. Optionally, the hand may be folded. If the Player folds the hand, the Ante is forfeit and the hand ends.
If the Player opts to play a Tequila hand, he will be using the six cards that are dealt to form a standard poker hand. To play Tequila, the Player must place a wager equal to the Ante amount on the Tequila wager. After this is done, the Player will receive the final two cards. If a qualifying five card hand is made from the Player's six cards, he will paid according to the Payout Table that can be found in these instructions and by tapping the logo on the game board
For High Tequila, points are awarded for each card based on the face value of the cards. Face cards (Jacks, Queens, and Kings) count as 10 points each. Aces count as 11 points. If the Player feels that adding up the points of the top five cards in his hand will meet or exceed a total of 46 points, (s)he may opt to play High Tequila. To do this, the Player must place a wager equal to the Ante amount on the High Tequila wager spot. After this is done, the Player will receive the final two cards. Awards are paid according to the Payout Table that can be found in these instructions and by tapping the logo on the game board.
The hand ends after the final two cards have been dealt and the Player's hand has been called. After the hand completes, if the Player presses the Deal button, the same Ante will be placed and new cards will be dealt.
If the Player does not want to repeat the last Ante wager, play will resume after a wager has been made and the Deal button has been pressed.
