In traditional Blackjack, the Player and the Dealer each start with two cards. Then, by drawing additional cards, they attempt to achieve a greater point value than has their opponent without exceeding 21. If a hand exceeds 21, it is considered "busted" and becomes invalid to win the round.
Cards are assigned point values in the following manner:
A calculated hand value that uses an Ace as 11 points is referred to as "soft". For example, 11 + 6 = 17. This is called a "Soft 17".
In this interesting twist on the game, there is not any drawing to be done. Instead, both the Dealer and the Player receive three cards that they will use to form their best Blackjack hand. To make things interesting, one of the three Dealer cards is exposed when the cards are dealt.
In Three Card Blackjack, a single 52-card deck is used. Once the Player has received his three cards, he only needs to decide whether to stay in the hand and hope to beat the Dealer's best hand or to fold the hand and forfeit his initial Ante.
Should the Player decide to remain in the hand, he is required to place a Raise wager that is equal to his initial Ante.
The hand starts when the Player places an Ante wager between the minimum $5 and the maximum of $500 and presses the Deal button. The Player may also place an optional Ace Plus Bonus wager before the hand is started. This wager must be between the minimum $5 and the maximum of $100. The default wager amounts for any game can be set in Preferences which is accessible from the game's menu.
After the Player has reviewed his three cards, he will decided to place a Raise wager that is equal to the initial Ante wager or Fold the hand. If the Player folds the hand, the Ante wager is forfeited, but the optional Ace Plus Bonus wager will remain in play and will be paid if there is a qualifying bonus hand in the Player's three cards. Payouts can be found in these instructions and by accessing the Payout Table by tapping the logo on the game board.
Should the Player opt to play the hand out by placing a Raise wager, his best hand will be compared to the Dealer's best hand and the following guidelines will be followed to determine a winner:
1. For the hand to be considered "valid", the Dealer must qualify with at least a total point count of 17.
2. If the Player has a Blackjack and the Dealer fails to qualify, the Ante wager is paid Even Money (1:1) and the Raise wager pushes and is refunded. If the Player does not have a Blackjack when the Dealer fails to qualify, the Ante wager is also pushed and refunded.
3. If the Player has a Blackjack and the Dealer qualifies, the Player is considered the winner of the hand; even if the Dealer also has a Blackjack.
4. If the Dealer qualifies and neither hands are a Blackjack, the hand with the highest point total is declared the winner.
In cases where the Dealer qualifies and the Player wins, the Player is paid Even Money for both the Ante and Raise wagers.
The Ace Plus Bonus is an optional wager that is paid if the Player has at least one Ace in his hand. This wager remains in play even if the Player opts to fold from the main Blackjack hand. Payouts for this bonus can be found in these instructions and by tapping on the logo on the gameboard.
After the hand has ended, if the Player presses the Deal button, the same Bets will be placed and new cards will be dealt.
If the Player does not want to repeat the last wager, play will resume after a wager has been made and the Deal button has been pressed.
